Rock Fiber Inc., ReforceTech form ReforceTech Americas
Joint venture entity will drive the availability and applicability of fiber reinforcement in construction to clients worldwide.
Rock Fiber Inc. (Houson, Texas, U.S.), an emerging upstream company in the basalt fiber industry, and ReforceTech Ltd. (Oslo, Norway), a global company offering composite reinforcement solutions for concrete structures, are forming the joint venture (JV), ReforceTech Americas. This new entity aims to become a driving forward for fiber-reinforced composites in construction, delivering high-performance materials to clients worldwide — including
projects aimed at coastal resiliency, and several Big Tech data center projects already in its pipeline.
“ReforceTech Americas marks a step forward in high-performance, cost-effective and sustainable reinforcement solutions,” says Gerry McDougall, chairman of Rock Fiber Inc. “We appreciate the ReforceTech team’s efforts in creating a platform that raises industry standards. By integrating our fiber, we’ll be delivering strong, durable and eco-friendly reinforcement solutions that are also more economical.”
ReforceTech Americas will market and sell MiniBars, a macrofiber concrete reinforcement product made from basalt fiber. Currently, MiniBars are being manufactured in Norway, with plans underway for a U.S.-based manufacturing facility. This partnership lays the foundation for a long-term collaboration — once Rock Fiber Inc. basalt fiber production comes online, it will supply its sustainable, high-performing fibers to produce MiniBars, both domestically and in Norway.
Fridtjof Falck, chairman of ReforceTech Ltd., highlights the strategic value of the partnership. “After 20 months of discussion, we recognized that working with an upstream partner who shares our vision is the best way to drive
growth and innovation. ReforceTech sees this JV as a chance to enhance efficiency, expand market reach and accelerate industry advancements.”
Oberon Securities LLC served as the exclusive financial advisor to Rock Fiber Inc. in structuring the JV, while Blank Rome LLP provided legal counsel.
